Knutstorp : Fragus becomes Vice-Champion !
The last round of the 2016 Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia season took place at Ring Knutstorp.
While Robin Hansson could still play a role in the championship fight, Fragus was in the same situation in team standings. After a mixed-feelings free practice session, Hansson managed to classify his nº31 car in the front row in Qualifying 1, while he finished 5th in the second session. On his side, Oscar Palm classified in 7th place for both races.
In Race 1, Hansson took a good start and got immediately between championship rivals Morin and Larsson. While attacking Morin in the inside of Turn 1, both drivers made contact, sending Morin off the track and causing severe damages on Hansson’s car. His chances for the championship were over as he had to stop for repairs and tyre change. Palm eventually finished 5th.
Race 2, both drivers finished at the same position as they started, 5th for Hansson and 7th for Palm.
While Hansson finished 4th in the general standings, Palm scored the 6th finale place. On its hand, Fragus BR Motorsport became Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia Vice-Champions in its first full season !
