Mantorp Park : Maiden victory for Hansson and Fragus !

After a dramatic first event at Skövde, which saw both of our cars retiring from the week-end due to substantial damages, Mantorp Park was supposed to be a revenge opportunity for Robin Hansson and Oscar Palm, along with all the Fragus BR Motorsport squad.

From the free practice sessions, both drivers showed great pace, scoring the first and second place in the morning session. In Qualifying, Hansson classified his car nº31 in 4th position, while Palm scored the 5th fastest time in Q1 and the 2nd best in the superpole session.

Starting from the second row, Hansson took a magnificent start in Race 1. First overtaking Mangs for P3, he then took the advantage on Morin and Larsson at the end of the first lap. A mature drive saw him crossing the finish line in first position, converting a great race in his and Fragus BR Motorsport first ever victory in Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia. He was joined on the podium by his team mate Oscar Palm who crossed the finish line in 3rd position, completing a great result for the team.

In Race 2, Palm took an excellent start from the front row in order to take the lead. On his side, Hansson repeated his good start and got the best of Larsson. At mid-race, Palm had dropped to 5th, while Hansson and Morin were fighting for the win. With 4 laps to go, Hansson tried his chance at Turn 1 and jumped in the inside of the car nº86. But as Morin decided to close the door, both cars were forced to make contact and Morin went off. Hansson went on to win his second race of the week-end, before being handed a 15s post-race penalty making him drop down to P4, and accessorily offering the podium to Morin.

This good week-end however put Hansson in 6th position in the standings, while his team mate Palm is currently lying 9th. On the team classification, Fragus BR Motorsport is P4, a few points away from PFI Racing and CIRKUS.

The next event will take place at Anderstorp, on the next 18th and 19th of June.
